Answers to the questions we hear most from new students. Have another question? Call us at (408) 617-9692 or visit us at 1039 Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94087.

Trying a Class

Is the first class really free?
Yes. Your first tryout class at KravZone is completely free, with no obligation. Sign up on our Free Tryout page, pick a class from the schedule, and just show up.
Do I need any martial arts experience to start?
No experience needed. Most of our students start as complete beginners. Classes are structured so beginners train safely alongside experienced students, and instructors adjust drills to your level.
What should I wear to my first class?
Comfortable athletic clothes (t-shirt, shorts or leggings) and clean training shoes. Bring water and a towel. For grappling classes, no shoes are needed on the mats. We provide loaner gear for your first sessions.

Programs

What programs does KravZone offer?
Adult Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (NoGi/grappling), Kickboxing, MMA, and KravFit/TacFit conditioning, plus Kids Krav (ages 5–12), Krav Teens, and Krav & Cub — our parent-and-child program. We also run women’s self-defense and corporate workshops.
Is Krav Maga good for kids?
Yes — our kids classes teach age-appropriate self-defense, discipline, and confidence in a safe, non-competitive setting. Kids Krav is designed for ages 5–12, and Krav Teens is tailored to teenagers. Kids can try their first class free.
Krav Maga vs BJJ — which should I choose?
Krav Maga focuses on practical self-defense for real-world situations, including strikes and defenses against common attacks. BJJ focuses on grappling and ground control. Many of our members train both — Krav Maga for self-defense skills and BJJ for grappling depth and fitness. If you’re unsure, try one free class of each.

Membership & Logistics

How much do classes cost?
We offer all-inclusive membership plans with no hidden costs, including family options. See current rates on our Membership & Pricing page, or come in for a free tryout and we’ll walk you through the options.
Where is KravZone located and which areas do you serve?
We’re at 1039 Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94087 — our only location. Members train with us from across the South Bay, including Cupertino, Santa Clara, Mountain View, Saratoga, Campbell, and San Jose.
